No Citizen Representation?

It looks like Crystal and New Hope are considering resolutions to eliminate citizen representation on the West Metro Fire Board.

From Crystal’s April 3 work session agenda packet;

At its March 27 meeting, the West Metro Fire Rescue District Board discussed possible changes to Article IV of the joint powers agreement regarding the composition of the Board of Directors. It was suggested that Article IV be amended so that;

*The Board consists of five members; one member from each city council, both city managers, and a 5th member who is appointed and agreed to by both councils or;

*The Board remain at seven members, but both members appointed by city councils are specified to be members of each city council.

This is just unreal! It’s bad enough that the council appoints themselves to be “citizen representation” but no they are blatantly trying to shut citizens out completely! Tell  BOTH councils NOOOOOOOO to this!!!!!!!
