Shep Harris Should Be a Comedian

As you all know, I am not a fan of Golden Valley Mayor and professional lobbyist Shep Harris. In his latest edition of Mayor’s Minutes, though, he has taken himself to a new level.

In this video, which can be seen HERE, Harris first tries to justify a new community building at Brookview for the staggering cost of $12 million! Seriously, why does every government building have to cost eight figures? According to Harris the council is just debating how to finance it. Let me translate that: they are figuring out how much money to borrow.

Harris then tries to justify yet another high density housing project using the Met Council idiotic numbers. Harris claimed that Golden Valley will grow by 4000 residents and add 9000 jobs!!!!!

What? 9000 jobs!!!!!! Is Microsoft moving their headquarters there? And there’s no chance Golden Valley will add 4000 residents. Here is the trend;

Golden Valley population in 1970: 24, 276

Golden Valley population in 2010: 20, 371

It looks like it’s 4000 the other way! How does he get away with saying this stuff?

Memo to residents of Golden Valley; VOTE THIS GUY OUT!
