2014 MCA Tests in Reading Put Local Districts Near the Bottom

Well, 117 districts had at least 100 10th grade students and the districts in this area didn’t very well. The Robbinsdale district ranked 101 with only 51% of 10th graders proficient (ie; students who “meet” and “exceed” standards.) Brooklyn Center District 286 ranked dead last. Once again, Minneapolis and St, Paul are near the bottom ranking 113th and 116th respectively. This of course despite the unbelievable spending levels.

You can see the chart HERE

It is sad to see such terrible results in the area in which I call home. Worse yet, nobody in education seems to have any answers other than “more money, lower class size.”
