Well, you knew this was coming. As opposition to the Bottineau Light Rail continues, Hennepin County Commissioner Mile Opat has broke out the scare tactics.

Check out this video from channel 12 on the disruption this will cause residents as well as Mr. Opat’s comments.

Did you catch what Opat actually said? Listen carefully, “There’s no way to satisfy everyone and some homes will have to go, but the mass transit project is for the greater good.”

The greater good? So we are to bow to the collectives, sort of like the Soviet Union in the 1930’s. As always, Mr. Opat couldn’t care less about individual rights or private property. To him, you are his serf.

Then come the scare tactics;

“Without this connection, we’re going to be out there as an island amid an otherwise connected region.”

We already are connected you moron. We are connected with roads, bike paths, and bus routes. How does anybody get around? We don’t need your dumb light rail! We’re not falling for your fear mongering!

We’re starting to drive him crazy folks! That’s when the scare tactics always come out! Defeat Bottineau and Mike Opat in 2016!
