New Hope Won’t Appoint a Citizen

Well New Hope citizens will once again get screwed out of having a voice on the West Metro Fire Board. On Monday January 12 the New Hope City Council appointed Councilman John Elder as the West Metro Fire Representative and Council member Eric Lammle as the “citizen representative.”

What is New Hope scared of? Are people on the council the only people who can serve? Did New Hope even seek any applicants? This is nothing more than elitism and arrogance. What make Elder or Lammle anymore qualified to sit on the Board than anyone else? New Hope’s budget does nothing but bloat every year and they just vote for whatever is in front of their face. We need a budget hawk on this Board, not another “yes man.”
