Is Registering to Vote a High Standard?
By Andrew Richter
As we go and vote here in Crystal in on Tuesday, I’d like to point out a few more interesting tidbits regarding Randy Rosario and Carla McPipe.
*Randy Rosario filed for office on June 2, 2014. Yet Mr. Rosario registered to vote on June 12, 2014. Does it disturb anyone that Mr. Rosario registered to vote ten days after becoming a candidate?
*Carla McPipe filed for office on June 3, 2014 and has yet to register to vote.
Now, some my call this knit picking but I think it is quite serious. How can anyone strive to represent people in their city when they didn’t even vote in the previous election? I wonder if Rosario would have even voted had he not been a candidate. The fact Ms. McPipe is running for office and not registered to vote while talking about transparency and honesty is also troubling. I don’t think being registered to vote is a high standard do you?
Of course, as always, I’m sure I’ll get bashed for reporting the truth but that’s OK. You have to have a thick skin in this business and that goes for candidates too. We have an obligation to report this and let you decide on Tuesday.
