You’re just not paying enough in New Hope! On February 10 the city council voted (and as always with no dissents) to impose a “fee” or as we call it a tax on your water bills of 20 cents per 1000 gallons to pay for their share of the new emergency water supply. Of course this is after they already raised waters bills 5% for 2014 but that’s not enough! The tax is expected to take effect on April 1.

City Manager Kirk McDonald, fresh off his 5% raise for the 3rd straight year, claimed that Golden Valley and Crystal are considering enacting similar “fees” so look for it in those cities too.

Mayor Kathi Hemken must have watched Tom Mathisen’s freak out presentation to the Crystal City Council on the emergency water supply since she said; “we don’t want a West Virginia.” Yeah, that’s right madam mayor…..typical government; use a crisis as an excuse to grow government.

It passed 4-0 (John Elder was absent)! Wow, what a shock; no dissent!!!!

You people in New Hope need to wake up!!!!
