The city of Crystal has a long work session planned for Thursday August 22 and there is a lot on the agenda regarding the 2014 budget. One thing on the agenda is utility rates. Take a look at city staff’s recommendations;

Water Fund

We are recommending a 5.15% increase in water rates for 2014 with additional increases in the following years.

In other words, pay more now and in the future.

Sewer Fund

A 3.85% in sewer rates in proposed.

And if that isn’t enough…..

Street Light

A 6.9% increase!

Work Session Packet

Call and email the city council and tell them these rate increases are unacceptable!

    Funny thing is we get charged for street lights and we don’t even have one on our block. As for the rest of the rate increases, the city has to ask itself if they’re not pricing themselves right out of the market when it comes to “liveability?”
