Pay Those Salaries!

Minnesota State Statute §471.701 requires that a city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest paid employees.

Here is the news for New Hope;

City Manager – $101,920

Director of Public Works – $95,395

Director of Community Development – $90,908

The news is worse for Crystal taxpayers;

City Manager – $124,635.00

Community Development Director – $104,888.64

Finance Director – $104,888.64

Now since New Hope and Crystal have about the same population that begs a few questions;

Why does the city manager of Crystal make $23,000 more than the manager in New Hope?

Why does the Crystal Community Development Director make about $14,000 more than the one in New Hope?

Why does Crystal’s Finance Director make AT LEAST $14,000 more?

Now we aren’t against paying good people good money but the differences are astounding.

Please direct your concerns to the city councils of each city.
