On Monday (4/4/2011) RAS Board will hear a report on the Middle School Achievement Gap.  See attached link to PowerPoint presentation https://v3.boardbook.org/Public/PublicItemDownload.aspx?ik=31116963 .

The results are BAD.  The Gap in Reading increased by 4 percentage points!!!!  The Gap in Math increased by 3 percentage points.

Please attend or watch Monday’s RAS Board meeting and engage Board members and Staff on WHAT THE “H” is going on?  If you have questions and MAJOR Concerns like US, please contact ALL Board members and Superintendent Sicoli before the meeting with your questions and concerns!!!!!!

We citizens need to HOLD our elected officials FEET TO THE FIRE!!!!!!!

I watched the School Board meeting on Monday. I was un-impressed with the presentation and down playing of the DOWNWARD TREND of the MAP scores for the two Middle Schools in RAS. Superintendent Sicoli was the only staff that appear to be concerned with the results.

The TREND of BACKWARDS (NEGATIVE) GROWTH is VERY CONCERNING!!!!! We will be waiting for a CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN to be announced very SOON!!!!!!!

Please, if you are concerned with these results call, write or email ALL School Board members and school administration with your concerns!!
